AI Enablement for Operations Leaders

Redesign workflows, decision rights, and roles for AI-native operations. The strategic playbook for leaders rebuilding the production function around AI — not bolting AI onto legacy processes.

This course is built for operations directors, chief transformation officers, and senior business leaders in financial services, insurance, and other regulated industries who are tired of AI pilots that don't compound. It is not an introduction to machine learning. It assumes you have already seen what GenAI can do and now need to understand what it takes to make it the substrate of how your organisation actually operates.

We start from a single observation: most companies are layering AI on top of workflows that were designed for humans. The result is a chatbot here, a copilot there, a few promising experiments — and an operating model that is fundamentally unchanged. The companies that will win the next decade are the ones rebuilding their production function around AI from first principles. That requires a different way of thinking about workflows, data, decision rights, talent, and governance. This course teaches you how.

Across seven modules you will learn how to map your current production function, identify where AI-native redesign creates structural advantage, restructure workflows so the system generates output by default, design human-in-the-loop boundaries that hold up under audit, and sequence the organisational changes required to make the new model land. Every concept is grounded in financial services examples — KYC, regulatory reporting, customer ops, claims, credit decisioning — and aligned to the EU AI Act, PRA SS1/23, FCA SYSC, and DORA where it matters.

This course pairs with our AI Enablement service and the supporting pillar essay on what AI enablement actually means. Complete all seven modules and pass the final assessment to earn your AI Enablement Practitioner certification from Insight Centric.

  1. 01

    The Production Function Is Changing

Why AI is the first technological shift in decades that genuinely changes how companies produce output — and what that means for your operating model.

  2. 02

Augmentation vs Redesign — The Diagnostic

How to tell whether you are layering AI on top of an old workflow or genuinely rebuilding the workflow itself, and why the difference is everything.

  3. 03

    The Workflow Redesign Framework

A six-step framework for rebuilding any workflow from augmentation mode into a genuinely AI-native operating pattern, with worked examples in financial services.

  4. 04

Decision Rights in an AI-Native Operating Model

How to redraw who decides what when systems generate output by default, with practical patterns for accountability, override, and audit in regulated environments.

  5. 05

The Data Layer — The Constraint That Determines Everything

Why most AI initiatives fail at the data layer rather than the model, and what an action-data architecture looks like in practice for regulated environments.

  6. 06

Talent, Roles, and the New Operating Model

How role design, hiring profiles, and management practice change when systems generate output by default — and the new role archetypes you'll need.

  7. 07

The Sequenced Roadmap: 12 to 36 Months of AI Enablement

How to phase a multi-workflow AI enablement programme so each phase delivers a defensible outcome and the organisation can absorb the change.

  8. Final Exam — AI Enablement Practitioner

Unlocks after all modules. Pass mark 70%. Printable certificate on completion.
